Calligraphy Initiation - Discover the serene beauty of Chinese Calligraphy
An introduction to Chinese calligraphy - practice the basics of Chinese calligraphy with Japanese brushes, ink, and paper. Little by little, you will be able to feel the beauty and serenity permeate from within you through the ink outline. After basic exercises, we will discuss some simple ideograms of old or more recent style. Beatrice Boivineau lived in Japan for 11 years where she became Calligrapher & Martial Arts Instructor of Tenshintaido & Japanese Sword (Kenbu Tenshinryu). She has been a member of Master Aoki Hiroyuki Calligraphy school in Japan from 2008 and a Shiatsu massage healer. Having participated in more than 15 calligraphy exhibitions in Japan and China, she has won several awards for her work. She held her first personal exhibition in Tokyo in 2019. Beatrice moved to London in August 2019 and is the founder of the Tenshintaido Kooki dojo, in which she teaches Tenshintaido and Japanese Sword (Kenbu Tenshinryu). She also practices Shiatsu massage. During WAF, another exhibition with more works will be held at the Tooting Library from 16 to 26 June.
